Tamiya 74148 Fine Engraving Needle is aimed at modellers adding fine panel lines and realistic small details. Its 20 degree point provides consistent, narrow cuts for believable scale effects on model surfaces.

Materials, size and compatibility

Produced from cemented carbide for wear resistance, this needle measures 25mm in length and has a 2mm shank. It fits Tamiya holders like Item 74139 as well as common fine vises such as Fine Pin Vise D (Item 74050) and D-R (Item 74112), giving flexible tool options.

Working method for clean grooves

Use several light strokes instead of forcing a deep cut in one pass. Gradual scribing helps prevent slips and keeps line width even around curves and corners.
