Is this paint ready to use straight from the bottle?

You can use XF-24 directly for brushwork, but for airbrushing you may want to thin it slightly for smoother atomization and flow.

Will it cover light colours in one coat?

Coverage is good, but depending on the shade underneath you may need two light coats for full, even coverage rather than a single heavy application.
