Since its debut in 1988 the Avante has been a benchmark for off-road RC design. The 2011 Black Special, model 84270, updates the classic silhouette with modern components while keeping the original spirit alive for dedicated hobbyists.

Chassis Details and Strengths

The Black Special pairs carbon fibre upper and lower decks for a stiff but lightweight frame. Aluminium front steering knuckles add reinforcement where you need it, helping the car stay composed when changing direction quickly on loose or hardpack surfaces.

Included is a 25T brushed motor mounted longitudinally, driving a shaft-driven full-time 4WD system that gives consistent traction.
