Bring Out a Metallic Red Finish

Tamiya TS-18 Metallic Red is a synthetic acrylic lacquer that produces a bright, even metallic layer and dries quickly for efficient workflow. One 100ml can will generally cover two to three 1/24 scale car bodies, depending on application thickness.

Compatibility with Paint Systems

This aerosol is intended for use on plastic models and is compatible with fully cured acrylic and enamel coatings underneath. For best results, apply thin coats and allow proper flash time between passes.

Will TS-18 work on all plastic model kits?

TS-18 is formulated for standard polystyrene and ABS plastic model bodies. Test on a spare part if the plastic is exotic or heavily textured.

Do I need to thin this spray before use?

The aerosol is ready to use and should not be thinned. Shake well before spraying and use short bursts to avoid runs.

Any tips for avoiding orange peel on metallics?

Apply multiple light coats from the correct distance, warm the can slightly if cold, and keep the spray moving to prevent textured surfaces. Light sanding between coats can also help.
