Prime Nylon Bodies with Tamiya 87152

If you build and paint RC shells, the Tamiya 87152 spray primer gives a practical base for difficult plastics. Its formulation targets materials that often reject paint, including polypropylene and FRP, and the 100ml can provides controlled coverage for neat results.

Best Surfaces and Limitations

This primer works well on nylon and similar components to improve topcoat adhesion. It is not suitable for polyethylene, so avoid using it on that substrate. Proper priming reduces the chance of flaking and improves overall finish durability.

Application Tips for Clean Results

Clean parts thoroughly and remove any oily residue before spraying. Agitate the can well, apply light, even coats in a ventilated workspace, and let each layer dry fully prior to painting.

Use it on nylon, polypropylene and FRP parts. Do not use it on polyethylene as it will not bond correctly.
The can contains 100ml of primer, ideal for touch ups and medium sized components.
Once fully dry you can lightly sand the primed surface to smooth imperfections before applying final paint.
Store the can upright in a cool dry place away from direct heat and sunlight to maintain performance.
