The Tamiya 89619 Wespe represents the German self-propelled howitzer in 1/35 scale, showing how the Panzer II chassis was adapted to carry the Type 18/2, 10.5cm L/28 light howitzer. The model highlights the open-top fighting area and wartime modifications that made the Wespe a practical field artillery vehicle.
Experienced modellers and collectors will notice the emphasis on external accuracy. Intended as a mobile artillery stopgap, the Wespe entered production in February 1943 and 676 units were completed by September 1944.
