The British Armored Car Staghound Mk.I has a notable service record. Conceived in the US as the Ford T17E1 4X4, it ran on twin Chevrolet 270 engines and carried a 37mm turret armament plus three machine guns. Although the M8 Greyhound was favoured by US forces, the Staghound was widely used by British and Commonwealth units in the Italian campaign from 1943 to 1945 and remained in postwar service in regions such as the Middle East and Central America.
This Tamiya 1/35 kit accurately renders the Staghound Mk.I's sharp-angled hull and functional layout. Modelmakers will notice the carefully moulded leaf spring suspension and the option to display open side and turret hatches showing interior details like the turret basket and radio gear. The set also includes canvas rolls, jerry cans and a roof-mounted machine gun to boost visual authenticity.
Included photo-etched parts raise the finesse of external fittings, and five decal choices let you choose unit markings. The three included British figures allow immediate scene building. This kit is suited to hobbyists seeking a faithful military subject for display.
