The Tamiya 89783 recreates the compact L6/40 at 1/35 scale, offering surface detail true to the period. Originating from Fiat-Ansaldo designs in 1936 and entering production in 1941, the L6/40 saw service in several campaigns across North Africa, the Balkans and on the Eastern Front, where it performed reconnaissance and light support tasks.
This limited run kit features a riveted hull and parts that echo the Italian Carro Armato M13/40 aesthetic. Included are components for the transmission, driver position, drive shaft and the turret 20mm armament. Model builders can display the vehicle with hatches either open or closed and access engine inspection panels as desired.
Assembly-type track links are provided alongside photo-etched parts for hinges, exhaust shields and number plates. Decals cover five different unit markings across the North African, Russian and Balkan theatres plus a German-used variant. Also included are two figures produced by Tamiya, a standing officer and a seated crewman, with decal uniforms.
