The Tamiya 94786 Brake Sponge Set gives Mini 4WD hobbyists three sponge types with distinct friction levels - low, medium, and high - so you can adjust braking behavior to suit track demands. It fits MS, Super XX, and Super 2 chassis, letting drivers refine handling and reduce instability at speed.

Each sponge sheet is 5cm x 5cm to allow accurate placement and trimming for specific setups. The kit includes double-sided tape, metal fittings, and an FRP plate to make mounting straightforward. For models based on Super X, TZ-X, or VS chassis, add Item 15243 FRP Rear Roller Stay and 15407 Stainless Steel Screw Set D (40mm) for compatibility.

Can I use these sponges on any Mini 4WD chassis?

They are designed for MS, Super XX, and Super 2 chassis. To fit on Super X, TZ-X, or VS chassis you will need the specified FRP rear stay and screw set to adapt the mounting points.

Will the sponge affect straight line speed?

Sponge friction creates controlled drag at contact points. Choose lower friction for minimal speed loss on straights and higher friction to stabilise the car through corners where needed.

How durable are the 5cm x 5cm sponge sheets?

The sheets are intended for tuning and should withstand normal race use. Check and replace worn sections as part of routine maintenance to retain consistent braking performance.
