The Tamiya 95604 - DCR-02 Clear Black Special brings a smoky clear black body to the Mini 4WD line, giving a refined look to display racks and race lanes. Designed by Takayuki Yamazaki, the kit balances visual style with the performance-minded MA chassis layout.

Why the MA Chassis Works Well

The MA chassis positions the motor mid-vehicle to improve weight balance and streamline airflow. It uses a 3.5:1 gear ratio, six separate rollers and a rear skid bar to help keep the car stable at speed. The monocoque construction reduces the number of assembly steps and makes routine upkeep easier.

Body Construction and Compatibility

Supplied is a three-piece clear black ABS body that is interchangeable with other DCR family shells like the DCR-01. The chassis is cast in clear purple ABS and paired with white low-friction POM parts, plus clear stickers for custom detailing.

Wheel and Tyre Details

The kit includes matte pink plated Y-spoke wheels fitted with black small-diameter low-profile super hard tyres that have sidewall lettering. These parts prioritise low rolling drag while retaining a bold look.

Powertrain and Custom Options

The car accepts a Type 130 double shaft motor and keeps the 3.5:1 gear ratio. Power comes from two AA batteries (sold separately) and a wide range of Grade-Up Parts are compatible for tuning or cosmetic work.
