Precision aluminium housing for BBX BB-01

This component is an aftermarket transmission housing designed specifically for the TAMIYA 1/10 BBX BB-01 chassis, listed as model BBX038. Machined from 7075-T6 aluminium, the unit reduces internal gearbox clearance to help maintain accurate spur and pinion alignment under load.

By tightening the gearbox envelope, the housing helps stabilise drivetrain behaviour and sharpen steering feedback on technical runs. It is supplied as a hobby upgrade and is not suitable for any non-RC vehicle use.

Installation is straightforward for those familiar with BB-01 servicing: remove the stock cover, transfer bearings and any required internals, seat the aluminium housing in place, and fasten with the original screws. Recheck gear mesh and endplay before completing the rebuild.

Packing includes

  • Transmission housing set - 1pcs

Compatible Models

  • TAMIYA-1/10 BBX BB-01 CHASSIS-58719

Owners aiming for firmer gear engagement and less transmission play will find this 7075-T6 aluminium housing a durable upgrade that helps keep gearing aligned during demanding RC sessions.

Perfect craftmanship, perfect Parts and very fast shipping! Excelent!
No additional machining should be needed; the housing is dimensioned for BB-01 fitment. Move bearings across and check fit before final tightening.
It improves gear alignment which can produce a more consistent steering feel. It does not increase gear ratio or directly change servo load beyond reduced slack.
Inspect gear mesh periodically, ensure fasteners remain tight, and clean any grit from the gearbox to protect the aluminium finish.
