This hi-torque aluminium servo saver is supplied as a direct replacement for the Tamiya CW-01 Lunch Box chassis. It combines a 25T aluminium saver body with a steel tie rod to stiffen steering linkage while still protecting the servo gears from sudden shocks.
Fitting is simple on CW-01 setups that use a 25T servo spline: mount the saver between the servo horn and the steering linkage, fasten the tie rod to the steering arm, then confirm the spline engagement before final torque. Apply moderate thread torque and cycle the steering to ensure there is no binding.
When tuning, the saver helps minimise steering lash and sharpens response with stronger servos, while not changing the servo's output. Regular inspections of the pivot and tie rod threads will preserve consistent steering performance.
