Metal steering upgrade for the Lunch Box

The JR-LB08-LB set provides an aluminium servo saver and matching aluminium tie rods built to suit the TAMIYA CW-01 Lunch Box chassis. Replacing the standard plastic saver and links with aluminium reduces compliance and gives a more immediate steering response on the track or trail.

Fitting is aimed at hobbyists comfortable with CW-01 steering layouts. The saver accepts a 25T spline used by common steering servos, and the tie rods attach via the usual ball joints and threaded ends on the Lunch Box knuckles. Ensure the spline is aligned and threads are fully engaged to prevent binding during operation.

From a setup perspective, the aluminium components make steering stiffer and more predictable under load. This change decreases play compared to original plastic parts, which is useful for tighter steering trims or when pairing with stronger servos on CW-01 platforms.

Yes. The parts are designed to use the original mounting locations and ball joint interfaces, allowing direct replacement without modifying the chassis.
No. The spline only affects the servo-to-horn interface. Steering geometry is set by the link lengths and knuckle positions, which remain unchanged by this upgrade.
Applying a medium-strength thread lock to the rod ends is recommended to help prevent loosening during use, while still allowing future adjustments or replacements.
