The JR-THNE06-LB aluminum gear box is an aftermarket replacement crafted for Tamiya DT02, DT03, DT04 and Hornet EVO RC chassis. Produced from machined aluminium with a blue anodised finish, this housing replaces the factory plastic case to deliver a firmer mounting point for spur and pinion assemblies and increased wear resistance under more demanding setups.

Installation tips: the component is designed as a direct swap for the specified Tamiya platforms, keeping bearing locations and mounting points in the same places so motor alignment and gear positions remain consistent. When refitting, check spur and pinion condition and make sure bearings are seated correctly before torquing fasteners. Use thread-lock sparingly on metal-to-metal joints where appropriate.

Performance note: moving to a metal gearbox reduces casing flex around the spur area, which helps keep gear mesh stable when using higher torque motors or altered pinion sizes. The aluminium housing also disperses heat more effectively compared with plastic covers during extended running.
