Precision aluminium lower arm for the DT-03 front end

This is an RC front lower suspension arm created to fit the TAMIYA DT-03 chassis, sold as model JR-DT300-OR. The unit is manufactured from anodised orange aluminium to serve as a stronger alternative to the original plastic lower arm at DT-03 mounting locations.

From a setup perspective the aluminium lower arm gives a more stable attachment for suspension components, helping preserve alignment settings under load. It is intended to be used with existing DT-03 suspension pieces and ball cups; confirm current fastener lengths and ball stud positions before installation.

Fitting guidance: move the factory mounting hardware to the new arm, align with the hub carrier and steering link, fasten to firm but not excessive torque to protect threads, and then check suspension articulation and steering range for any signs of interference.

How does the anodised finish hold up to impacts?

The anodised coating is wear resistant but not invulnerable; minor scuffs can appear under heavy use. The aluminium core retains structural integrity even if the finish shows wear.

Will aluminium reduce breakage compared to the plastic arm?

Aluminium offers improved resistance to permanent deformation and repeated stress, so it generally survives impacts that would crack plastic, though high-energy hits can still bend metal.

Does the anodise colour fade over time?

Colour fade is possible with prolonged UV exposure and abrasion; the anodised layer bonds to the metal and will retain colour better than surface paint, but cosmetic wear may occur with heavy use.
