This aluminium front shock tower is an aftermarket hop-up made for the Tamiya GF-01 chassis and supplied as model GF028. It serves as a direct replacement to provide a more rigid mounting for front shocks compared with standard plastic towers.
By stiffening the top shock mount the tower reduces chassis flex where the shocks attach, which alters the effective shock geometry under load and helps the front axle react more predictably on rough ground and through corners. It is a helpful tuning part when refining spring rates, damping and camber link settings on GF-01 cars.
Installation follows normal GF-01 service steps: remove the original tower, move over any needed hardware and shock tops, then bolt this unit into the factory mounting points. After fitting check shock travel and alignment, and tweak preload or mount positions to suit your setup.
