Centre ball differential suited to M04M

This aluminium ball differential is an RC upgrade made to fit the Tamiya M04M differential bay and other Tamiya kits with the same layout. It swaps out the stock part for a metal housing and serviceable ball system to deliver repeatable drivetrain response during setup work.

Provided as a hop-up replacement rather than a complete gearbox, the unit focuses on giving tunable centre traction and torque transfer so you can alter handling balance without touching suspension or motor settings.

Installation and tuning notes:

• Remove the original differential from the M04M casing following standard disassembly steps and check the mating surfaces for wear before installing the aluminium unit.
• Use appropriate grease and shims to achieve the desired preload and smooth operation, and confirm the differential rotates freely by hand before full reassembly.
• Run bench checks and short low-speed trials to ensure drivetrain smoothness and refine handling once fitted.
