Precision aluminium shaft for TA05 differentials

The TA05-19/LB aluminium differential shaft is designed for use in Tamiya TA05 1/10 scale touring cars. As a direct replacement for the factory steel shaft, the machined aluminium option gives a tradeoff of lower mass and controlled stiffness suited to setup and maintenance tasks.

Compatibility includes TA05, TA05-IFS and TA05-R variants as noted in the compatibility list. The shaft functions inside the differential assembly and mates with the existing gearset and bearings; verify clearance in your differential housing prior to fitting.

Fitting guidance: follow your chassis service instructions to remove the diff carrier, inspect and service gears and bearings, then install the shaft ensuring correct gear mesh and bearing preload. Typical model workshop tools are sufficient; deburr edges and ensure lubricant passages are clear after assembly.

Tuning notes: swapping to aluminium shifts rotational inertia and can change how the diff transmits drive and engine braking feel, which can be used alongside diff oil changes and gearing to refine on-track performance.
