Aluminum hub overview and fit

This JR-TFD03-LB aluminum rear hub from JAZRIDER serves as an RC-scale aftermarket replacement for Tamiya Thunder Shot, Thunder Dragon, Fire Dragon, and Terra Scorcher buggies. The component is finished in blue anodize and is intended to directly replace plastic rear hubs when the mounting interfaces are the same.

Because it is metal, the hub offers a more consistent wheel mount compared with plastic alternatives, which helps when tuning suspension or drivetrain settings that influence tire contact and stability. It is designed for hobby and race preparation use only.

Installation and tuning notes

  • Confirm fitment: verify the hub matches the existing wheel hex and axle interface before installation.
  • Use the original fasteners where possible to retain correct thread engagement and stack height.
  • Check 走珠軸承 seating and axle clearance after installation to ensure free rotation without binding.
  • When adjusting toe or camber, recheck wheel runout and hub tightness as metal parts change stiffness compared with plastic counterparts.
  • Routine inspection is recommended after initial runs to confirm no loosening of mounting hardware.

Great stuff. Love the upgrades. Wish they did more though, love jazzing up my cars
The aluminum hub resists typical hobby impacts better than stock plastic, but heavy collisions can deform or crack the part; inspect after any major impact and replace if bent.
Anodize offers good surface protection but can show scratches or wear over time under abrasive conditions; normal track use will usually leave minor marks rather than large flakes.
Surface repairs to anodize require specialist processes; for cosmetic damage consider replacement rather than attempting a field repair.
