Overview of clamp-style aluminium hub

This clamp-type wheel hub replaces the original plastic hub on selected TAMIYA 1/10 models with a machined 6061 aluminium part that secures the wheel using a slotted clamp and a single cap screw. As the screw is tightened the slot closes and the wheel axle is gripped, lowering the risk of the 2 x 10mm stainless steel shaft falling free when removing wheels.

Machining the hub from 6061 aluminium increases rigidity at the mounting face and helps preserve alignment during rough use, which supports repeatable setup work. The package contains Grade 12.9 cap head screws and matching 2 x 10 steel pins to mirror the original clamp-style retention.

Is the clamp hub easy to install?

Installation follows the same basic steps as the stock hub: slide the hub over the axle, fit the 2 x 10 pin, then tighten the cap screw to compress the slit and clamp the axle securely.

Does 6061 aluminium improve handling?

6061 increases mounting stiffness compared with plastic, which helps keep wheel alignment more consistent under load and can make small setup adjustments more predictable on track or trail.

Are the supplied screws and pins the same as OEM?
