Seal Specification for DZ70 Fitment

The YS Engine YSG7051 throttle barrel seal is supplied as an aftermarket replacement for DZ70-style engine assemblies. It provides the sealing interface around the throttle barrel to limit unwanted air entry and fuel escape that can disturb idle and throttle transitions.

Its primary function is to ensure a snug fit between the throttle barrel and carburettor or intake housing, reducing leaks that influence running consistency. Because it is a small consumable, many pilots carry spares and replace the seal during routine maintenance or when troubleshooting inconsistent throttle behaviour.

To fit, withdraw the throttle barrel per your engine's service instructions, clean the mating surfaces, then seat the seal concentrically on the barrel prior to reassembly. Check for free barrel movement and absence of tight spots; if binding occurs, reseat the seal or inspect for foreign material. Avoid forcing components together to protect the seal lip and barrel finish.

Effect on tuning: installing a correct YSG7051 seal reduces air and fuel leaks at the barrel interface, which helps sharpen idle stability and throttle response. It complements proper needle settings and a clean carburettor for consistent engine setup.

If the original seal shows distortion, cuts, or fuel-induced swelling, reuse is not advised. For dependable sealing and consistent tuning, fit a new YSG7051 when in doubt.
Some fuels and additives can soften or swell seals over time. Inspect seals exposed to aggressive fuels more frequently and replace them if any softening or dimensional change is observed.
Confirm the seal sits evenly around the barrel lip and that the barrel rotates freely. A short bench idle check will reveal leaks or irregular throttle transitions before you return the model to full operation.
