Optional FRP shock top mount for Tomahawk

The SCW039 rear shock stay is a CNC-machined 3mm black FRP plate created as an optional top mount for Tomahawk-style Scorpion-series chassis. It provides a precise, rigid anchor for the top of rear shocks, aimed at hobbyists wanting consistent shock geometry for setup and handling work.

To achieve the intended configuration, use this stay together with the SCW040 Adjustable Shocks; it is not compatible with the SCW013 HG Shock Set. The item is supplied as a single machined FRP plate with mounting holes and alignment markers; usual practice is to use the shock hardware and screws from the original kit for installation.

In tuning terms, swapping the OEM top mount for a machined FRP stay increases the rigidity of the top mount and changes how piston travel relates to chassis movement. Modelers use this part to keep top mounts aligned and maintain repeatable shock positions while refining spring and damper choices.

Does this require extra drilling or trimming?

No additional drilling is normally required; the plate is pre-machined for mounting. Check the hole alignment against your chassis and use existing kit hardware where possible.

Can I combine this with different shocks?

It is intended to be used with SCW040 Adjustable Shocks to match the mounting pattern. It is not compatible with the SCW013 HG Shock Set and may not suit other shock designs without modification.

How does it affect handling?

By stiffening the shock top mount, the stay changes the way shocks react to inputs, helping maintain a consistent baseline for tuning springs and damping when chasing predictable handling.
