This aluminum front shock assembly is an aftermarket upgrade built for the TRAXXAS 1/10 Rustler VXL. The kit includes an adjustable damper body with alloy ball top and alloy ball ends plus three wire-size coil springs to vary the initial spring rate. The inclusion of a 4mm shaft and alloy components emphasises durability and repeatable setup when you are refining chassis balance.

Fitment uses the standard Rustler VXL front mounting points so installation is straightforward when replacing OEM front dampers. Alloy ball fittings improve the joint stiffness compared with some plastic connectors, helping to reduce unwanted slop in the steering and suspension linkages. Swap the supplied springs to experiment with ride height and front-end bite; the heavier wire spring stiffens initial response while the lighter wire relaxes it.

Start tuning with the 1.5mm spring and neutral preload and rebound, then move to 1.3mm or 1.7mm to dial in traction and turn-in. Confirm the threaded adjusters engage smoothly and check the 4mm shaft for any binding through full travel. Regular inspections of ball ends and mounting hardware after sessions help keep fitment reliable.
