10-tooth steel pinion for TRX4 trail rigs

This 2pcs steel 10T pinion set is intended for TRAXXAS TRX4 TRAIL CRAWLER applications, model TRX4010T. Made from hardened steel #45, the gears are specified for motors with a 3.175mm centre bore and 0.8mm tooth spacing to keep consistent engagement during low-speed, high-torque crawling.

Installation and fit: the pinions are matched to 32 pitch spur gears with a 10-tooth count, so confirm spur profile and motor shaft diameter before fitment. The kit supplies a 3x3 screw shaft to fasten the pinion to the motor shaft, enabling direct replacement on many TRX4 motors without extra hardware.

Drive tuning: altering pinion teeth changes the gear ratio, trading wheel torque against top speed on technical trails. A smaller pinion increases torque for steep or slow lines; always set proper mesh and check motor clearance to avoid tooth damage.

Maintenance advice: check the motor shaft for rough spots, ensure the 3.175mm bore seats correctly, and tighten the fixing screw to a secure but not excessive torque. Inspect gear mesh and the fastener after initial runs and periodically thereafter.

This item is compatible with

  • TRAXXAS TRX4 Defender Trail Crawler
It fits motors that have a 3.175mm centre bore and use a 0.8mm tooth spacing, designed for 32 pitch 10T setups.
The package includes the 3x3 securing screw, so additional common hardware is often unnecessary for standard TRX4 motor mounts.
Hardened steel #45 resists wear under heavy, slow-speed loads encountered in crawling, keeping gear geometry stable over time.
