Centre gearbox protection plate

This aluminium center gear box bottom protector is a scale accessory made for the TRAXXAS TRX4 Trail Crawler, supplied as a 2pcs set. It uses light aluminium to keep weight down while providing a flat shield below the centre gearbox to prevent sand and small stones entering and to redirect impact energy away from the gearbox housing.

The kit supplies one stainless steel flat head screw 3x14 for fitting. The protector surface includes locating holes that match the upper main shaft screw positions so the main shaft can be removed or refitted with the plate in place, making maintenance on the trail quicker.

The surface receives a tough, scratch-resistant coating to resist normal trail wear; rinse off abrasive grit after runs and inspect fastener threads before use. This part is intended solely as protection for scale off-road crawling and will not alter gear ratios or drivetrain tuning.

Parts are very nice. Fit very well. Easy to install. But screws are sometimes to short. And piece was not drilled and tapped deep enough. But overall excellent workmanship. Your shipping leaves a lot to be desired. And it seems tha you got a little confus

Is any gearbox disassembly required to fit this protector?

No full gearbox teardown is normally needed; the protector mounts to existing points and the main shaft can be handled through the plate's access holes.

Will the plate affect ground clearance?

The plate is flat and low-profile, designed to sit under the centre gearbox with minimal extra height while offering protection from trail debris.

What should I check after installing the protector?

After installation, verify the screw 3x14 is secure, check that the main shaft can be accessed, and rinse away any loose grit following trail use to preserve the finish.
