Front tie rod upgrade for UNLIMITED DESERT RACER steering

This turnbuckle assembly is produced for use on the TRAXXAS UNLIMITED DESERT RACER and is intended to assist the knuckle arms through the steering range without modifying suspension geometry. The component is aimed at steering linkage tuning rather than drivetrain changes.

Components are manufactured from 304 stainless steel to offer better stiffness and corrosion resistance than plain metal parts, making them suitable for coastal or muddy tracks. Length adjustments are made by rotating the turnbuckle body to extend or retract the tie rod.

Installation is simple: replace the stock steering tie rod or install inline with the knuckle arm mounts on the UNLIMITED DESERT RACER. Once adjusted, verify straight-line tracking and ensure threads are fully engaged to avoid loosening while driving.

Just received Avery well packed and vey shiny box of GPM parts... all look great... only one negative... and probably on my part... the discs and calipers come in sets of 4... not 4 discs or 4 calipers.. oh well another order to follow... great service th

Is this compatible with other Traxxas models?

This set is designed for the UNLIMITED DESERT RACER steering geometry. Other Traxxas models may require different lengths or mounts, so check fitment before fitting to a different chassis.

What is the best way to adjust the link length?

Hold the ball stud or rod end steady and rotate the turnbuckle body to change length, make small adjustments and recheck steering centring after each move.

Does 304 stainless affect weight or balance?

304 stainless adds some mass versus plastic parts but the change is minor; benefits include improved strength and resistance to corrosion in outdoor conditions.
