High-Strength CVD Upgrade for X-MAXX 6S

This 16-piece replacement set is an aftermarket constant velocity drive assembly designed for Traxxas Xmaxx 6S duty. Primary drive components are machined from hardened steel #45 and the dogbones are upsized from the original 5.5mm to 7mm to better cope with the higher torque and RPM of 6S setups. The joint between the CVD and alloy hex uses a perforated interface fixed by a stainless pin to keep the hex secure under load.

Fitting hardware is included to aid installation: four hex adapters, four stainless steel screw shafts M5x4x20, and four set screws 5x5, with manual references 7750, 7737, and 7756. Together these parts aim to provide more reliable wheel rotation and longer service intervals than stock components when running high-power systems.

For upkeep and setup the kit focuses on replacing softer stock bits with hardened steel to limit deformation at speed and preserve wheel tracking during demanding use. The pinned alloy hex connection reduces free play between the CVD and wheel hex during hard acceleration.

Compatible Models

  • Traxxas Xmaxx 6S

Intended specifically for Traxxas Xmaxx 6S installations, this hardened #45 CVD set is suited where increased drivetrain stiffness and joint stability are needed to maintain consistent wheel rotation under heavy loads.

Yes, the 16-piece kit provides the necessary CVD assemblies for both front and rear positions; check chassis layout before fitting to ensure correct orientation.
Increasing dogbone diameter to 7mm raises torsional stiffness and reduces bending under load, which helps maintain alignment at high engine speeds and high torque conditions.
The kit lists manual reference numbers 7750, 7737, and 7756 for the included hex adapters, shafts, and set screws to make cross-referencing straightforward.
It is good practice to inspect related components like gears, bearings, and pinion/spur alignment; replacing worn parts alongside the CVDs gives the best result for high-power running.
