The F-100D Super Sabre played a notable role in Cold War and Vietnam-era operations, acting as a versatile jet able to perform close air support and fighter-bomber sorties. Production began in 1955 and the airframe completed its first flight in January 1956.
Trumpeter has produced a detailed 1:32 scale kit that recreates the F-100D profile and systems. The moulding captures the airframe form and provisions around the Pratt & Whitney J57-P-21 installation for authentic representation.
The F-100D saw widespread service, replacing earlier types like the F-84F and operating across multiple regions. Its intense wartime use affected subsequent service assignments, with Air National Guard integration occurring later in 1969.
Built for modellers who favour accuracy, this Trumpeter release features many small components to assemble and detail. The completed model measures 516mm in length and 369.5mm in width and provides an impressive visual for a well-made display.
