The Trumpeter 02334 - 1/35 Scale Soviet D-74 122mm Field Gun model brings a classic artillery design to the workbench. Originating in the late 1950s for Soviet service, the D-74 performed both direct fire and indirect roles and is still found in the inventories of several nations such as Sri Lanka, Egypt and Pakistan.
The D-74 is emblematic of Cold War artillery engineering and its operational history highlights its adaptability. Building this 1/35 representation helps modellers appreciate the mechanical layout and styling distinctive to Soviet ordnance.
The boxed set contains more than 240 parts plus one photo-etched element to sharpen detail. Newly tooled parts and rubber tyres help recreate realistic shapes, and the nine sprues make the assembly manageable but engaging for experienced hobbyists.
Finished dimensions are 303 mm in length and 78 mm across, giving the model solid shelf presence. The accurate detailing and historical interest make it suitable for focused military dioramas or as a stand-alone display model.
