The USS ENGLAND DE-635 earned distinction during World War II and carries the name of Ensign John Charles England, lost at Pearl Harbor. Notably, the ship and her task group sank six Japanese submarines between May 19 and May 31, 1944. This Trumpeter release reproduces that vessel at 1/350 scale for display and research builds.
Entered into service in December 1943, the USS ENGLAND was a turbo-electric destroyer escort operating primarily in the Pacific. The model is aimed at hobbyists who want a historically faithful representation of mid war escort vessels.
The kit includes the choice of a waterline plate or a complete lower hull, plus one photo-etched fret to enhance fine components. The parts are moulded to support accurate rigging and deck detail for experienced builders.
The model's level of detail and decal options make it suitable for shelf displays, museum style dioramas, or grouping with other WWII naval models. Builders can choose either wartime paint schemes included in the decal set.
