This 1:72 scale plastic kit presents the Henschel-production German Sd.Kfz.186 Jagdtiger, tailored for modellers and collectors working in small-scale armoured vehicle ranges.
The Jagdtiger project began in early 1943 as a heavy tank destroyer meant to tackle armoured targets at range. A wooden mock-up was shown in October 1943. By February 1944 two suspension prototypes existed: a Porsche-sprung version with eight roadwheels and a Henschel-sprung layout with nine roadwheels. The vehicle was first called Jagdpanzer VI before being assigned the Jagdtiger name and Sd.Kfz.186 designation. Production was intermittent from mid-1944 due to competing wartime priorities.
Details provided here reflect the kit as supplied. The model reproduces the Henschel-production external lines and nine-roadwheel suspension in miniature. The parts count and sprue layout are included, and the kit supplies decals for a three-colour German camouflage finish. Builders should consult reference images when choosing paint and weathering techniques.
A small-scale portrayal of the Henschel-production Jagdtiger with faithful external suspension detail and a three-color decal option; suitable for display builds at 1:72 scale.
