The Jagdtiger is a notable example of late WWII German tank destroyer design. Developed in early 1943, it was intended for long-range anti-armour roles. The Porsche-built prototype used an eight road wheel suspension, whereas the Henschel alternative featured nine. Production schedules were affected by priority given to machines such as the Pz.Kpfw V Panther, yet the Jagdtiger eventually entered service and is recognised for its heavy armour and armament.
This Trumpeter 1:72 kit of the Jagdtiger (P) includes 78 injection-moulded parts that capture the Porsche suspension layout. The construction process is best suited to modellers with some kit experience, offering a good balance between challenge and accessibility. When finished the model measures 145.6mm long, providing a compact representation for tabletop displays or modelling competitions.
The compact footprint and correct proportions make this Jagdtiger a strong choice for diorama builders and collectors who favour historically accurate armour. The kit works well as a standalone piece or integrated into combined-arms scenes.
