This 71T, 42-pitch Delrin spur is an aftermarket replacement produced by GPM for the TAMIYA TT02 family. It is intended to swap into TT02 and TT02B gearboxes when a lower-noise, low-friction option is preferred over harder-material spurs.
Material and role: Delrin is chosen for RC gears when a compromise of wear life and sliding friction is required. In TT02 drivetrains the spur transmits motion from the motor pinion to the gearbox and the 71-tooth count sets the baseline final drive ratio and mesh expectations.
Installation notes: ensure the motor pinion matches 42 pitch, adjust backlash with shims or spacing techniques, and keep an eye on axial alignment to prevent binding. Recheck gear mesh after a short break-in as the Delrin can seat in under light load. Supplied as one piece for single-gear replacement.
Tuning considerations: using Delrin typically reduces noise and smooths engagement relative to some stiffer plastics, useful when refining gearing for traction or efficiency. Apply only light lubrication and pair with good quality pinions and bearings for reliable operation.
