This 1:700 plastic model represents the US Navy destroyer USS The Sullivans (DD-537), intended as an accurate display replica of a World War II-era Fletcher-class destroyer.

The vessel was launched in April 1943 and entered service in September 1943. Renamed in February 1943 to commemorate five brothers lost on the cruiser Juneau, she served in the Pacific performing plane guard, shore bombardment and radar picket tasks, including Okinawa operations. She was decommissioned after World War II, reactivated for the Korean War and finally retired in 1965, earning nine World War II battle stars and two from the Korean conflict.

Built at 1:700 scale, the kit faithfully captures the ship profile and deck layout. It includes separate upper and lower hull components and allows construction as either a full-hull or waterline model.
