This plastic model kit in 1:72 scale represents the Vickers Wellington GR.MK XIV as a specialised maritime patrol version in Trumpeter's aircraft catalogue.
The operational GR.MK XIV was modified for anti-submarine work, incorporating a chin radome to house ASV radar and frequently operating with a Leigh Light for nocturnal attacks. Many aircraft had the nose turret removed, sometimes concealed with a painted outline. The type used Bristol Hercules engines and entered service in the later stages of World War II, flying from coastal airfields on patrol duties.
The kit highlights the maritime silhouette with chin radome and is supplied with 205 plastic parts across 10 sprues. When assembled the model measures 188 mm in length with a 229 mm wingspan. Two decal marking options are provided and the box dimensions are 38 x 24 x 6 cm.
Well detailed and historically focused, this Wellington kit is suitable for modellers seeking an accurate coastal patrol subject with authentic wartime details.
