Construction and Visible Mechanics

Components include poplar-type wooden parts and transparent plastic that expose the internal mechanism for study. Design references from the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum add a realistic touch to the model. Final measurements are 284mm in length, 92mm in width and 115mm in height, and the model advances at about 1.67 cm/s while articulating its head and tail for lifelike movement.

How It Goes Together

The gearbox comes pre-assembled in plastic with the motor fitted and only two wires to connect, simplifying the build for those new to modelling. With a 280:1 gear ratio the kit creates a smooth walk, and it runs on a single AA battery (not supplied) for roughly four hours per battery.
