The Tamiya 58695 Wild One Off-Roader revives an off-road classic with refreshed graphics by Jun Watanabe. The Blockhead Motors paint scheme gives the kit a standout look geared toward collectors and active RC drivers who value period styling.
At a 1/10 scale, the Wild One keeps the original proportions with 425mm length, 140mm height and 225mm width, and a 255mm wheelbase. Its ABS box-type chassis is both resilient and lightweight, while the battery compartment accepts contemporary packs like Tamiya Racing Packs and LF cells. The 2WD setup uses fully independent suspension with coil springs and trailing arms for composed handling off-road.
The buggy includes an enclosed gearbox with differential gears for easier cornering, and dog bone-type driveshafts fitted with dust covers to improve longevity. A 540-type brushed motor is supplied; you will need to provide a 2-channel radio, a steering servo, an ESC and a 7.2-7.4 volt battery plus charger to complete the build.
This edition ships with a light blue pre-painted, pre-cut polycarbonate body bearing new Blockhead Motors stickers. Metal-plated parts, window nets, numbered plates and a dummy antenna enhance authenticity and evoke the 1980s off-road vibe.
The Tamiya 58695 Wild One Off-Roader is well suited to modders and collectors who want a faithful retro build with parts that work with modern batteries and radio gear.
