This aluminium hi-torque servo saver is an aftermarket replacement made for the Wild Willy 2 WR-02 chassis and supplied as one set under model WW2025STM. The design uses a machined aluminium body and a steel tie rod to give a firmer steering link compared with the soft stock saver.
Operationally the saver absorbs steering impacts and maintains mechanical centring, acting as a sacrificial link that reduces load transfer to the servo. The 25T designation denotes the spline connection used by the unit and the steel tie rod allows direct adjustment of steering geometry.
Fitting is simple for hobbyists experienced with WR-02 steering: remove the original unit, install the aluminium body onto the servo spline, secure it and reattach the tie rod. Check spline lock and wheel centring, then fine-tune tie rod length to get correct toe settings.
Note on feel: the aluminium body and steel rod decrease play in the linkage for crisper steering at the expense of increased feedback to the servo; recalibrate trim and travel limits after installation to avoid overloading the servo.
