How to set up the XRAY T4'20 1.6mm upper deck

The XRAY 301061 T4'20 Graphite Upper Deck is a finely made upgrade intended to refine handling when grip is limited. The 1.6mm graphite construction gives a lightweight, stiff mounting option for aluminium chassis cars running on lower to medium traction surfaces.

Flex options explained

The plate is symmetrical to ensure even bend across the chassis. Select one of the following linking methods to change handling traits:

  • Soft Setting: Do not connect the top deck to the stand for maximum lateral flex and livelier steering response, suitable for tight, technical layouts.
  • Medium Setting: Use a ball-bearing link to allow side-to-side movement while preserving front-to-rear stiffness, giving a versatile handling characteristic.
  • Stiff Setting: Fit a fixed bushing to remove flex and increase overall chassis stability for higher-speed sections.

Best usage scenarios

Pair this graphite deck with an aluminium chassis when running on roads or tracks with limited traction. The material provides a responsive feel without adding unnecessary mass.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some XRAY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
On dusty or low-grip surfaces, the soft setting can help the front find bite earlier, but you may need to adjust rear settings to keep balance.
Yes, changing between soft, medium and stiff links alters chassis roll and yaw behaviour, which affects cornering and weight transfer.
Installation uses standard T4'20 hardware; you will only need the appropriate bearing or bushing to select your desired flex setting.
