High-accuracy 48T/64 pinion by XRAY

Built on a specially modified precision gear machine, the XRAY 305998 pinion delivers fine tolerances and excellent concentricity for reliable gear engagement. Every tooth edge is chamfered and then treated with a hardcoat to extend service life while preserving geometry.

Weight-optimised construction

Forged from premium aircraft duraluminum, this pinion reduces mass by about 25 percent and is 1.5mm thinner than typical pinions, helping to improve throttle response and reduce rotational inertia. When used with XRAY spur gears the reduced thickness also cuts down on gear noise.

Versatile compatibility for on-road setups

The XRAY 305998 mates cleanly with a wide range of 64 pitch spur gears and suits many competitive 1/10 on-road configurations. Its precise tooth profile supports consistent performance across varying track conditions.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some XRAY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Yes, it is suitable for most 1/10 scale touring and on-road gearboxes that accept 64 pitch narrow pinions. Check pinion bore and shaft fit before final installation.
Chamfered edges ease initial tooth contact and help prevent premature wear, improving mesh smoothness and reducing the chance of edge chipping.
The design balances weight and durability; using high-grade duraluminum and hardcoating preserves sufficient strength for racing loads while trimming mass.
Keep the gear free of grit, inspect teeth regularly and ensure proper mesh alignment to maximise life and maintain quiet running.
