This shaft is intended for the #325000 Adjustable Ball Differential. If your older diff shares the same mounting and bore dimensions it may fit, but measure carefully to avoid mismatch.
The tougher steel lowers the rate of wear, so you should need fewer shaft changes. However, regular inspection and lubrication of the differential are still recommended.
Standard RC assembly tools are sufficient for installation. Keep torque values and alignment checks in line with XRAY service notes to ensure correct fit.
