Fit the gear and rotate the drivetrain by hand to check for smooth contact. Look for even tooth engagement and no binding. Adjust pinion position until the mesh is correct.
The composite material resists wear, but if you run on dusty or gritty surfaces clean the gear often. Preventing abrasive buildup will prolong service life and preserve smooth engagement.
