The XRAY 351106 XB9 chassis uses Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum to create a robust yet light base ideal for fast off road running. CNC machining removes unneeded material to drop the centre of gravity while retaining the rigidity required for racing. The hardcoat finish, applied in XRAY's automated line, produces a consistent surface that stands up to regular track use.
Design highlights include reinforced downstop screw areas and countersunk fastener holes to keep the lower surface smooth and snag free. The internal mass is deliberately centralised to enhance lateral balance, which helps with stable cornering. Multiple mounting positions for side guards and the radio box let you experiment with Multi-Flex settings to refine traction and steering response.
Due to the alloy's stiffness, small cracks can appear near openings or around edges after hardcoating; these are typically superficial and do not impair durability. Minor longitudinal warp from machining tension is also possible and considered normal for this material and process.
A solid choice for experienced hobbyists who want a race oriented, lightweight chassis that supports setup tweaks for varying track conditions.
