Later XB models sometimes changed ball stud locations and thread sizes, so verify measurements before fitting to post-release variants.

Do these studs need greasing?

Keep the surrounding bearings and cups lightly lubricated, but avoid heavy grease on the ball seat which can attract grit and speed wear.

Are any special tools required?

Standard ball stud drivers or a suitably sized hex tool are sufficient; just take care not to over-torque when seating the stud.
