Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium provides higher stiffness and fatigue resistance than typical plastics, so it withstands repeated loads better. Nonetheless, check for impact marks after heavy contacts.
Aluminium can show visible deformation on heavy impacts; inspect mounting faces and chamfers for cracks and replace if deformation affects alignment. Some repairs that work on plastic may not be possible with aluminium.
