The XRAY 358124 Aluminum Front Shock Body set upgrades the front end of your XB8 with precision-machined parts. Constructed from 7075 T6 aluminium, they keep weight low while delivering the strength needed for off-road use. The hard-coated titanium finish helps resist wear and maintains a tidy appearance.

Dimensioned for Consistent Handling

These shock bodies use a big-bore profile with an 18.5mm outer diameter and a 16.0mm inner diameter. The fine external thread lets you dial in spring preload exactly, which is handy when testing different tyre and oil combinations. Manufactured using German CNC-machining, the parts provide tight tolerances for repeatable setups.

Surface Protection for Frequent Running

XRAY apply a robust hardcoating in their facility to give a titanium-style finish that stands up to daily wear. The coating reduces scuffing and keeps the shock bodies functioning longer between service intervals.

They are optimised for the XRAY XB8 front assemblies. Other cars with matching bore and thread pitch might accept them, but you should check dimensions before fitting.
Oil choice depends on track conditions and driving style. Use a quality big-bore shock oil and test viscosities to achieve the desired rebound and bump control.
Aluminium bodies are slightly heavier than some composites but stiffer and more durable. Any weight change is minimal and often outweighed by improved consistency and longevity.
Original springs and caps that fit the XB8 big-bore dimensions will work. Verify spring seat fit on the new external thread to ensure correct preload adjustment.
