Rear Damping Kit for XRAY XB808

The XRAY 358203 XB808 Rear Shock Absorber Set is aimed at racers and club drivers who want dependable rear suspension on the XB808. The set contains two big-bore shocks fitted with soft rubber boots to keep grit out while preserving smooth damping on a range of surfaces.

Quality Build and Accurate Adjustment

These shocks feature oversized 18.5mm O.D. bodies that are externally threaded and include an adjustable collar for precise downstop adjustment. The hardcoated aluminium shock bodies and one-piece aluminium cap work together to give long-lasting performance. Internal components like the 15.3mm I.D. pistons are made from a dedicated composite for reliable, low-friction operation.

Performance Details and Seal Design

Improved membrane width and upgraded materials help the shocks keep a consistent damping curve lap after lap. The lower assembly aims to reduce oil leaks while preserving free travel, using silicone compound O-rings and composite shims to manage sealing and movement. The 3.5mm thick high-tensile steel shafts resist bending during heavy landings and hard riding.

Compatibility Advice

The XRAY 358203 is a direct replacement for earlier XB808 shock units. To get correct geometry when fitting these on an 808 chassis, fitting the XB9 shock tower is recommended to align mounting points properly.

Can I swap these onto an XB9 without other parts?

You can use the 358203 shocks on an XB9 chassis, but check mount positions and consider using the correct shock tower to ensure fitment and suspension geometry.

Do the shock boots affect damping feel?

The soft rubber boots mainly protect the shock bodies and seals; they do not change internal damping but help maintain consistent performance by keeping contaminants out.

Are replacement pistons and seals available?

The pistons and O-rings are standard service items; check with your supplier for genuine replacement composite pistons and silicone O-rings to maintain original operation.
