This is a 1/12 scale plastic model kit depicting the 2004 Yamaha YZR-M1 race bike, created as a detailed replica intended for assembly and polished display.
The YZR-M1 represented Yamaha's top four-stroke race design in the early 2000s, centred on a compact inline four-cylinder engine and a chassis tuned for high-speed road competition. For 2004 the machine was developed to suit the larger-displacement formula, and it saw action from several factory riders across the season. The scaled bodywork highlights the aerodynamic shaping and narrow silhouette typical of that era.
The kit, distinct from the real-world motorcycle, reproduces the engine arrangement, exhaust routing, ram air intake and suspension architecture in miniature. Included are an alternate seat cowl for two rider setups and synthetic rubber tyres that resemble slick racing rubber. Poly caps are fitted where needed in suspension points and cowl fixtures, and multiple body panels can be removed post-assembly to expose the engine and drivetrain areas for display.
Decals are supplied for the two rider numbers listed, and the moulded cowl reflects the compact, streamlined look of the 2004 machines. Completion requires painting and basic modelling tools; decal placement and finish choices will influence the final presentation.
An accurate 1/12 replica designed for builders who want realistic mechanical detail and display flexibility with alternate cowling options.
