Fitting guidance: YD-2S side diffuser

The Yokomo Y2-001SDA side diffuser is an accessory tailored to the YD-2S range of drift chassis. It channels airflow along the body sides to enhance lateral bite and produce more predictable transitions during drift sequences.

When mounted it can reduce the body-to-chassis gap on compatible shells, increasing side panel rigidity and aiding stability. Be aware that the diffuser needs front-side mounting clearance and therefore cannot be fitted at the same time as the graphite side plate reinforcement bar Y2-002SB.

How is the Y2-001SDA mounted on the chassis?

The diffuser attaches to the standard side mounting points of YD-2S variants; align it with the body mounts and use the kit screws. Check front clearance before tightening fully.

Will I need to modify the body shell?

Some body shells require minor trimming or spacing to clear the diffuser. Trial-fit the shell over the chassis with the part installed to confirm fitment.

Is the diffuser compatible with the Y2-002SB plate?

No. The front-side fixation of this diffuser prevents simultaneous use with the Y2-002SB graphite reinforcement bar.

Are special tools required to fit it?

No special tools are needed beyond basic hobby screwdrivers. Fit the part carefully and double-check clearances before trimming any body panels.
