Yokomo B9-S116A six-hole piston for tuned BD9 shocks

The Yokomo B9-S116A piston upgrades BD9 high big bore short shocks with AXON collaboration. Its six-hole construction improves vibration control and traction under load. The larger outer diameter helps stabilise the car during large rolls and cuts rear wander at speed.

Setup advice and comparative benefits

Compared with the standard BD9 4-hole pistons, the B9-S116A features larger holes for a more immediate damping response. When fitting, use your current shock oil as a baseline and then experiment with heavier oils from #50 up to #100 to suit track surface and driver preference.

Yes, the larger outer diameter and extra holes help damp small oscillations, which can reduce rear hopping on smooth but bumpy asphalt when paired with the right oil.
Confirm the piston slides freely on your shock shaft and that the piston height matches the shock length. Also inspect seals and O-rings while you rebuild the shocks.
It suits most BD9 high big bore short shock builds, but tuning oil viscosity and spring rates is recommended to get the intended handling balance for your chassis and driving style.
